GoldenEye 64 using the HL2 Source Engine

Goldeneye was ONLY fun because of its time and the fact that it was on a console. It was a blast playing people split-screen and having a good time. It was fun because the controls were great for a console. It was fun because of its time period....Making an EXACT port of Goldeneye in this day and age is a waste. Especially on PC.

Perhaps it might be possible to have the split screen, action, controllers on the computer thing, again. Hook up 4 USB controllers to this GoldenEye64 on Source. That'd be badass.

Yup waiting for someone to jump out of those vents so you can blast them, and having someone else sneak up the stairs and take a few pot shots, letting the guy in the vents jump down and grab a gun, leads to pure chaos in the bathroom.

Oh man, I loved those bathroom shootouts. Who would of ever thought that those shootouts can last hours of fun. Me and my friends must of wasted so much time playing multi-player in Goldeneye.

Did they ever. I remember specifically making rules to determine who got the crappy controller during a match.

Yeah we had 2 controllers where the joystick wouldnt even stay up and one of those controllers had a A button that would stick. Once we decided to play Goldeneye, we didnt even call dibs on the controller but made a mad dash for them.

I think there are some valid reasons for making it. This thread proves that a lot of people still look fondly apon those days. Perhaps we all remember the past as being better than it actually was, but people still like to revisit fun experiences. Also, even if it was simpler in graphics and gameplay than a good new game, we're talking about a mod for a game many people have... so we dont have to sink $50 into it.
