Going with an x2 4600 and an Evga 122 - thoughts...

Hey guys I decided that instead of getting the intel 2.4 duo, im going to go with this , because its half the price...and ive been pretty much diehard amd my whole life. I have a k6-2 450 mhz lying around somewhere. Anyway the intels are amazing and im not going to turn this into and intel vs amd thread.

Basically Ive been reading benchmarks all over the internet and it looks like AMDs are doing much better in performance tests regarding rendering in AVID and other windows based non linear systems. any fan reccomendations - I want to overclock this thing as high as I can get it. What have been people's experiences?
