1. What are SATA cables for?

2. Where do I get the AUDIO cable for the CDRW from?

3. LITEON CDRW looks to have 2 power connectors, a 4 pin and something smaller, does it matter which one I use for power?

4. LITEON CDRW came with a cable, looks like a small 4 hole thing with 3 wires, what's this for?

Majorly Confused with:

5. I have a MAXTOR 160gb drive with a 133 ATA pci card, if I hook the pci card up, there are 2 slots for ribbons ontop of it, I hook the ribbon ontop in the first slot, how do I set my computer to boot from this HD?

6. If I have a older MAXTOR 60gb, can I hook it to the pci 133 ata card, or will it not be supported? How do I make this my backup drive, slave it off of something? Use it on the mobo primary IDE, or secondary or what?

7. The CDRW should go in which IDE? Secondary and jumper to master or primary and jumper to master if there is no HD connected to the mobo directly.

8. I have 5 fans total, 3 are bridges off the floppy 4 pin, 2 of them I've taken off the 4 pin and there's a little clip, 2 hookups for 12v fans on the MOBO (ASUS 800 P4P Deluxe), using coolermaster fans and the connector when you take off the 4 pin on them, I connected them to the mobo, does this sound ok?

9. I wrote this post and I got a error and had to re-write it all, am I going to get a ulser?

Thanks ALOT [H]

Question 1: SATA cables are for SATA hard drives. (Serial ATA)

Question 2: Audio cables can usually be found at your local computer stores. Best Buy, or local store.

Question 3: The CDRW doesnt have 2 power connections, I dont know what your looking at but it doesnt. The 4 pin is the only one.

Question 4: That is your audio cable :)

Question 5: There should be some sort of driver for it and it would most likely load after the BIOS screen, there should be a setup utility for it also, watch the screen for instructions. But why are you using the card? Your motherboard is sufficient enough for that hard drive. It just adds something to screw up using the card.

Question 6: You could just set it to slave and put it on the card, it will work fine on that card. The card doesnt support ATA133 ONLY, it supports up to that.

Question 7: Id put it on secondary as master.

Question 8: Oh, I think my brain just exploded...

Question 9: Most likely

Audio Cables, they came w/my Sound Card and or w/my Drive.

2 power connectors on a CDRW ? just plug it into the one it fits in, there should only be 4 plugs, Power on the right, ATA cable, Audio Out and a small 2 pin plug.

CDRW came w/a cable...one end goes into the CDRW audio out, and the other..if u are using onboard sound it goes into a connector on ur board, mine was to the left of my N.Bridge. If you use a sound card, it goes into the Audio in connector.

Your CDRW should be secondary to your main CDrom drive. I have my CDRW as a slave to my CD\DVD rom.

i hope i helped some

you dont need the audio cable for the CD-RW unless you want to use the plug on the front of it for headphones

I looked at this post, and quickly decided taht I didnt want to comment for the sake of ME getting an ulcer (not ulser).

One thing, maybe on the LITEON cdrw the other "power connector" you're looking at MIGHT be the jumper pins? Thats the only other thing I coudl think of.
