going 7970 crossfire

I'm planning to get another card along w/ my current 7970. Will it matter if I pick up a 7970 ghz card and crossfire it?

My current 7970 is 925 / 1375..

They will run at the same clocks, if I were you I'd bump up the slower card to the GHz speed. It should be able to do GHz speeds no problem. Try MSI Afterburner.

Another thing you should probably look into is RadeonPro for smoothing out any potential Microstutter. There is potentially going to be some article or review including it in the near future. Let us know how it works and 'feels'.

I installed Radeon pro this weekend but didn't have the patience to sift through all the options at the time, plus it didn't look like too much new or novel. Which settings specifically would potentially alleviate CFX microstutter?

Thanks for the links. I didn't have those DVSync options when I opened it, but noticed they had a higher version number in the article. It took some hunting to find the 1.1.1.0 "preview" on their site but I'm good to go. Thanks.
