"Go to the first new post"

I don't know if this is a new change that is meant to enhance the experience, but seeing "Go to first new post" in underlined link text next to every thread is extremely annoying.

I also feel that it presents extra opportunity for people to drop in their quick reply with further excuse not to read the original post of the thread.

Does anyone else see this / agree?

i only get that if the page did not load up correctly... it goes away or else turns into a little button...?

Happens to me once in awhile, along with other things not showing up.

There's an image that's supposed to be there. The text will only appear if the image wasn't loaded.
