is there a way to synch gmail unidirectionally? as in i want to synch my phone with gmail but not vise versa. I have an hd2

Not familiar with it, however I have a samsung moment that works fine with two-way sync on my gmail/google apps accounts.
It would definitely be down to the software used and what's available for your phone.
