GMA 4500m

I search the forums and couldn't find a thread that answered my questions and google listed several sites that contradicted one another. I have come here for the answer.

Is the Intel GMA 4500m capable of Blue-Ray playback (external drive) or do I have go with the 4500m hd?

There's no clear answer. The only certainty is that it is not certified for Blu-Ray playback. It may still be capable with a beefy enough processor.

The general consensus is that it has the same video acceleration features, but not as good a performance as the MHD.

If 1080p is that important to you, you should just make sure you get the MHD (that, or a mobile 3200 or 9400).
