Gloss or Matte for programming (20" sceptre or like)?

I am planning to buy an inexpensive 20+ LCD, probably a Sceptre, to run off my laptop. The primary use is programming (editing, IDE, etc), with the occasional movie when I need a break. I have a window next to me, so I am a little concerned about glare if the screen is highly reflective, but i don't have any direct experience with larger glossy screens. The laptop ones I've used are nice a clear, thus my interest.

Insight or recommendation for matte or glossy for my application? I assume the Sceptre TN or PVA will do an occasional movie OK, too.

Thanks and cheers, L.D.

Depends which 20" Sceptre you mean. The NAGA III is a P-MVA panel, the NAGA is a TN, and the X20WC is a MVA.

I got the X20WC Gamer yesterday. Its glossy. I love it. Im in a room with 2 windows in front of me, 1 window to my right and 1 window behind me. I also have a overhead light and a light directly behind me. I never see any reflections except the light right behind me . But even it is'nt a bother because once Im gaming I forget about it too. I love this monitor.
