Global Network Computers Designed In 1932?

That small clip was pretty amazing. He almost perfectly predicted the modern PC. Yes the drawings were crude but what he described was documents seperated in windows, TV, media etc as well. That's pretty amazing for a prediction back in the 1930's.

Very smart guy. Of course he viewed everything from his time line, but the general idea is amazingly accurate. He didn't mention video games though, did he? :p

"Réseau" might not be translated as "network", that really is the French word for network. Eerie that he'd even get the name right.

And all this time..... I thought it was Al Gore that invented the internet....

:D

Sheesh that's pretty damn accurate :)

I was knocked out at the fact that he had these concepts in 1932. That' is nothing short of an insanely awesome vision.

And look, on our computers 76 years later, we're still trying to perfect the delivery of all the media he mentioned....that is either sad or

This is almost as impressive as the idea/construction of the Antikythera mechanism.

My only wish is that this somehow can be used to destroy patent trolls who claim the concept of multimedia everything since 199x.

reading through the NY Times article... I think what it boils down to is not a vision of the internet, but a catalog of it, a paper-based, massive, paper-Wikipedia thats search-able.

Wow, what a visionary. Truly amazing at how concepts back then turn into reality.

It is amazing, but consider how many predictions are made it would be strange if at least some wouldn't be accurate. These things are always interesting, I enjoy reading about crazy predictions that sounds even more absurd today than 50 years ago like everything in your home being waterproof and you have a drain in your living room so all you have to do to clean your home is to clean everything with a water hose ^^

Kudos to this guy for being right.
