Girlfriends Build is hanging on bootup (Browsing PC)

Ok the parts came in for my girlfriends Rig today and at bootup it hangs for about 30 seconds. with a black screen and alittle _ flashing symbol after about 25-30 seconds it goes directly to windows logo and boots up

CPU'Z shows memory timings correct @ 7-7-7-20 and I updated the Bios to the Most recent but it still hangs.

As for hard drive shes running a pretty old IDE 80GB Drive im thinking either the HDD is causing the hangup or the memory.
 
i thought the same thing and i cannot find a floppy option anywhere in the bios. right now i got my boot order HDD , crdrom.

i know the memory is ok i put the 1gb stick in my Rig and it booted right to desktop. i also tryed my memory in her pc got the same thing. ive used that board before and had no issues. im almost thinking its the HDD. im going to pull it and replace it.

ok i got it. sorry for asking a ? when i ended up figuring it out myself. Pulled the HDD and replaced it and boom booted up.
 
after further looking into this. its not the HDD at all. i forgot to hook up the IDE cdrom and once unhooked the pc booted but once the cdrom was hooked up the pc took forever to boot. I replaced the cdrom and now everything boots.

Grr i tell you the dumbest little things haha
