whats up yall .. i have an idea for a mod.. which involves motors..
i believe i have a way to make them work and run off the PSU

only thing is im not sure what kind of motor can be used to run off the 24 pin atx PSU safely. Does anyone recommend any small motors for this mod?i Plan to move something that maybe weighs 1 pound or less..
 
ohh and i forgot to ask, can yall place it on diagram and please hint me on how to use it...

i have a huge fan that came off a microwave, i'm not sure how i should go about installing it because it is a 120V/60Hz. i guess i should have saved the power input components from the microwave before i threw everything else out...

anyone have any ideas on how to make this bad-boy run in my case?
 
pyro, just cut the end off an extention cord and and wire it up to the fan then plug it into the wall outlet.

as for the motors, just find one that will run off of 12 volts, 5 volts, 7 volts, or 3.3 volts. all of those can easly be gotten directly from a powersupply

Wall plug and a relay, just like people did before 12V watercooling pumps came out.
 
im looking forward to a motor that has more torque than speed.. and is still like compslckr said.. 3v 5 v or 12 v..
anyone recommend anything?
 
i'm disappointed at the lack of room in my case for my super microwave fan. the fan blade is 4.5" in diameter.

i think i might make an external air filter similar to this guy's setup.

i'm afraid mounting this to a plate might be a bit difficult. whatever works though!

and i did find a relay and i wired that up along with it
