Setup:
Gigabyte x58 UD4P with F13 bios
Zeon x5660
Muskin 1600hz, 6GB
HX1000 psu
Sapphire 7970GHZ

Was playing BF4, computer froze and would not respond to any input. Decided to shut it off manually after waiting 10 min. Tried to reboot and it would show the motherboard bios display page on what buttons to select for various functions before allowing computer to post.

It would get that display page and then turn off then cycle over and over never getting to post. Cleared the CMOS and it made no difference. Finally removed two memory sticks and ran with one then it somehow booted, and displayed a page real quick talking about a post error. Computer booted up fine and was normal in the desktop environment.

Rebooted the computer again and everything was fine. Went to reboot again to put my settings back in the BIOS and it would not not POST. Grabbing for straws I unplugged all of the disk hard drives except the SSD and I got the post error screen again and then the screen went black but never posted like it did the first time.

Don't have an extra PSU that I think would have the power to even boot the computer to try out(old antec truepower 350w) and see if my HX1000 is dying.

Is this a power issue? Or is there something else I should be looking at?

Thanks:D

Well tried my brothers PSU in my computer and still the same. Probably just going to see if I can get another motherboard. Like the setup and new computers do not seem like a great step up at this point for the cash outlay.

Any decent 1366 mobo would do.
Sabertooth x58,x58a-OC,UD3p.. ( i am not a fan of Giga BIOS)
You gotta be careful with the EVGA..they do not recognize the Xeons..
umm..the p6ts..ack..
I got a umm.. p6x58d-e..this is the best 1366 board I've had..it's sweet..
..when it recognizes triple channel, that is.but yeah../p6x58d,p6x58d-e.
There's more..the WS ..eh I had one..it didn't OC so good..220 max fsb.
PS: Do yourself a favor and cop a decent PSU before proceeding further ;) .

Thanks for the advice. Looking at motherboards on ebay more selection than I figured.

I thought the Corsair HX1000 was pretty decent, at least it was back in 2008, lol.
