I have my 6 month old R9 290 and I was getting random black screens at the desktop.

Tried it on 2 different PC's and then took it to work and tried on 3...same issues, would just black screen randomly.

Sent it in for an RMA with a full clear description of what was happening and the configs of 3 PC's tested on. On the same day they received it they updated the status to "No fault found"...hmmm, was worried but gave them the benefit of the doubt.

Had to call them and find out when it was shipping back to me as the status was "Awaiting shipping", overall took 6 weeks. Get it back, put it int he PC and low and behold..the exact same issue. Tried on another PC...same thing again. My works IT guy tried it...same thing.

Resubmit for RMA, got approval and this time an even more detailed description of fault.....and again..on the date it was received at Gigabyte the status is "No fault found". And now I await it coming back to me once again and I have little faith it will work :(

Anyone else have a similar experience?. :(

What display connection where you using, did you specify?

I pitched a Gigabyte R9 280x in the recycling bin because I did not want to deal with Gigabyte RMA for a third time. Sent it back twice because of artifacts due to bad memory. Both times, they did nothing to fix the problem. I refuse to buy Gigabyte anything and make sure that everyone else I know does not buy Gigabyte.

Gigabyte is pretty bad with RMAs.
They played this game with me until I eventually just purchased a new GPU. I honestly wish I could tell you otherwise but I don't have faith in them.
Between them and XFX I do not know who is worse.
It seems that supporting their customers is a bit too much to ask sometimes.
Hell the XFX rep on these boards just eventually ignored me altogether.

I called them and was on hold for 43 minutes waiting for a status update, then the phone went dead. I am done with this company.

Tried both the DVI and HDMI ports and did stipulate this in my reasons for RMA.

Just tried calling again.....I swear their phone system is Fisher Price.
