Gigabyte recalls X79 boards

par for the course.I was just fixing to get the x79-ud3.Guess I'll look elsewhere:mad:

General recall, reeks of Sandy last January...
Not really, the sandy problem was an intel chipset issue so it hit everyone. This is a voltage regulator issue and afaict voltage regulator design is the domain of the individual motherboard manufacturers.

Well at least they fessed up to it and doing something about it.

I saw this coming awhile ago.

And mods, please move this to the motherboard section. heck, even the front news page....

So glad I spent so much time researching my purchase. I was gonna buy the UD-7, but there were too many RMA issues and so I talked myself into the Newegg combo which made the R4E only $400.

OK but what recall is a good thing? It knocks one good potential mobo maker off the map.

Never a good thing.
