any more information? 4 sticks or 2?
you turn on memory remap? x86 or x64?
Start off by removing all but one of the sticks, and make sure that the voltage supplied by your motherboard is withen spec of those sticks. Alot of people have to bump up the voltage in the BIOS for stability.
Continue to swap out sticks one at a time to make sure that all are working correctly.
Then add sticks one at a time to see if you can isolate the issue. If this is a new install of XP with those sticks, with less than ideal voltage.. Issues will occur, and you now have a bad install.
With adding the memory, slot 1 then slot 3 (dual channel), then slot 2 then slot 4 (dual channel).
Good luck, hope this works out for you!
4 sticks and i dont see any memory remap option on my bios...
Thanks, i did what u asked and found out that all 4 sticks are okay. Then i proceeded put 2 sticks on dual channel and no dual channel position and continued to check usong cpuz. What i found is interesting. Without the dual channel config meaning 2 sticks on ram slot 0 and 1, i see that cpuz verified this but when continuing with the dual channel config ie slot ram 0 and 2, cpuz verified there were 2 sticks in ram slot 0 and 1 just like before. Puzzled and blurred right now. It suppose to show ram slot 0 and 2. any ideas? Thanks in advanced for all the opinion
it does that for me too. might just be the way it is. strange how there's no memory remap. do you have the same symptoms if you use 3gb as if you use 4? I'm assuming 2gb works fine. And again, x86 or x64?
Is there a driver for the P35 chipset? I would consider that a pulpit if the RAM is OK and everything works in Vistabomination.
did you turn off execute disable in the bios? that'd also turn off pae as well
there should be an option for execute disable. that feature controls more than the xd bit. it also flags pae, which is needed for >2gb
