The crew at Vortez has just put the finishing touches on their nineteen page review of the GIGABYTE HD7950 Windforce x3. Overall, they gave the card very high marks, here's a quote from the review:

The GIGABYTE HD7950 Windforce cooler however increases the twin fan setup on the heatsink to three. This may seem like overkill as the reference HD7950 is hardly a roasting hot graphics card so it remains to be seen if the custom cooled card from GIGABYTE can raise the benchmark and make use of that extreme cooling design with some extra ordinary overclocks.

thanks for posting this up

pretty neat card... if your mobo is blue I think it be nice to have

I have this card as so far I love it! I haven't seen a need to try to overclock it yet because all my games play so smooth. This is the first review I've read about the card and really makes me feel like I made a good decision choosing this card. So far I'm really impressed with it and it makes me want to setup an eyefinety setup.

yeah, the windforce 3x is the best cooling setup this generation so far. Simply astounding levels.

my brother in law has a new 6870 windforce 3x ... that thing hardly spins up at all while gaming. Very nice cooler.

I'm seriously considering this card, just because of the cooler. Every other xx50 card i've seen is a two fan setup... which just makes for more RPM as the card is pushed, especially overclocking... NFG in my books. Three fans or bust! ;)

The dual fan Sapphire 7xxx series is also quite good actually. Don't write of dual fan too quickly. I'm running a 7950 OC from Sapphire and even OCed to 1200/1775 at 1.2V it doesn't spin up enough to be noticed over my case fans and still stays under 75C.
