HELP

I have a new Gigabte H55N-USB3 that will NOT get past the stupid boot loop problem.
I have a Pico 150w + 150w power brick that I am running on:
GIgabyte H55N, I3 550, 2x4gb Mushkin Blackline, Intel SSD, and a DVD Burner.

When I try to power the system on, it will start to POST, then it will get some black lines accross the Gigabyte splash screen, then reset. It has been doing this for the last hour with absolutely no change (im going to just let it keep boot looping as I fucking hate this motherboard and part of me wants it to just fail).

It wont do ANYTHING. Cant get into BIOS (even if it does manage to post some how),

If it somehow makes it past post, it will reset. I have tried it with a 350w old PSU, and I bought a Corsair HX520 PSU from compusa to test and it does not make a shred of difference. THE PICO PSU works in my other computer so It is NOT THE PICO PSU. It is an ULTRA low power build and even at max load it should only be pushing 90W MAX MAX MAX.

What causes the boot loop on the H55N-USB3??
It is fairly well documented problem, do I just have another shitty gigabyte board? Should I even bother to RMA it as i will probably get another gigabyte piece of shit?

Swapped and removed the RAM, swapped the PSU (the PICO PSU works flawlessly), removed all the peripherals.
I would try the DVI port but i dont have a dvi cable, and it boot loops without anything plugged in anyway.

Why does Gigabyte produce the absolute WORST products? Never had a single issue with an ASUS motherboard, or Intel, or MSI, or ANYONE except this terrible company. All the gigabyte motherboards I have purchaced as "high end" motherboards have performed absolutely horribly (my X48-DS4 would NOT get my Q6600 above 3.0ghz and I bought it based of dumbasses reccomending it to me as a good OCing board, my ASUS P5E Deluxe will get it to 4+ghz without any issues).

Now im going to have to lug this fucking computer back to Colorado with me, and suffer through this fuck terrible gigabyte problem (and I am 1000% sure it is a problem with the board.
FUCK Gigabyte, I will absolutely never purchase another product from them again, and I absolutely refuse to let ANYONE I know buy a piece of shit Gigabyte product again.

It will POST properly about 1 out of every 50 reboots. Someone help before I shoot myself :(

I had boot looping issues with the motherboard in my sig when it was new. It turned out to be a power supply issue. The power supply (Delta 360watt) worked fine on other boards but not the UD5 for some reason. I swapped psu's (TX650) and it booted up fine. I love Gigabyte motherboards I think they make some of the finest X58 motherboards on the market, but for some reason they just don't like certain psu's.

The problem is probably between the mobo and the ram. One of them could be bad, If you do get into the bios somehow than as fast as you can make sure the ram timings and voltages are the same as the specs for the ram. If you did try different ram and got the same results, RMA the board. Double check to make sure the cpu is seated properly and you are trying to post with the bare minimum connected.

I mean, a Corsair HX520 is a damn good PSU (cost me $120 until I return it). If it doesnt work with any of the PSUs I have i would consider it a fucking horribly designed motherboard (which I have little doubt it is). I would try it with my TX750 but its back home in colorado. I will probably try it with that when I lug this piece of shit back with me.

Good motherboards just work, I shouldnt have to buy different PSUs and dick around for hours to get it working with a COMPLETELY standard build. I mean, What the fuck? Either these boards are defective or they are just the usual Gigabyte engineering.

Yea, I checked that thread and everywhere else on the internet. Tons of people have this problem, but no one knows what to do about it (except me - throw the motherboard in he garbage).

I tried both ram sticks in alternating slots (like 10 different combos), but I dont have any other desktop DDR3 to try it with.
I just reseated the CPU and HSF with no change. I am running it pretty much bare nothing right now (No SATA, no USB devices plugged in, literally nothing plugged into it).

Should I try to return it to Newegg? And maybe try my hand with a board from a better quality manufacture (Which is pretty much everyone but gigabyte)? Im really considering just throwing it away.

I am so fucking frustrated. I wanted this to be a nice easy build for my break but then I picked Gigabyte. Never again though...

Now im gonna have to look for a new ITX board. Any suggestions for a GOOD motherboard to get? I think im gonna ask around on SPCR as they have guys with more PICO PSU experience over there.

Yes, absolutely contact Newegg now for a replacement. With the amount of problems with this model, I would exchange it for a different brand if you still can. Gigabyte makes good boards, it just seems that this model sucks.

Well, if you want to give it a shot you could:

1. If you have the board mounted in a case, take it out and try it unmounted.
2. Reseat the CPU.
3. Try running only 1 stick of RAM

No issues with my h55n running stock. I have whine when trying to overclock, but that is different...

extremely reliable and bug-free? DH57JG

Yeah, Apparently this board has issues with:
Lots of memory configs (over 4gb especially), finicky with PSU's, horrible HSF support (its like they put that resistor there specifically so you could ONLY use the stock cooler???), and just a general shit build and development quality

Not sure if it is gigabyte or this board, but I think ill err on the side of the former.

Every once and then one person will get a bad board. It's a fact and most of the time that person will rant. Most happy consumers never even register on forums.

I've been here since my first Zotac 9300-ITX (still working fine but it came with a bad dvi port), then I bought a DFI MI-P55-T36, still rocking as my gaming PC, finally I also bought this board and I'm a happy customer, it's housed on a cheapo thermaltake element Q with a Samuel 17 cooler and an i3 530 as a media streamer.

It's been awesome.

The truth is shit happens, there are bugs, flaws, etc. Will happen from ECS to ASUS or MSI or whatever you consider high-end and from TATA to Ferrari, etc.

Even the DH57JG has it's problems. Not all of the potential customers are aware it might fry with an i7 860 for instance.

it might? it probably will since it was not designed for that kind of load

don't get me wrong but i assembled this little toy as it is (may 2010) before the gigabyte board was available. if it was i surely go for it instead of intel ;)

Exactly my point, it might fry but as an end user you might not check for cpu compatibility. Even Avadirect sells it's nanocube with the i5 760 and the DH57JG by default
