I'm going to be overclocking this setup soon for the first time. What have your experiences been with a setup like this? I'll be using air cooling using the heat sink in my signature. How much different would thermal paste make? I think a lot of people will use a setup similar to mine so hopefully we can get some general info out there for people like me. I'm used to OC'ing with socket 775, but never with 1156.

overclocking should be fine.. only thing you have to deal with in the i7 is the base clock, cpu voltage and memory multiplier.. should get you 3.8ghz no problem.. or if you really want to go insane you could mess with other settings to get into the 4ghz range..
