Hey Guys,
I have a GIGABYTE ep45-ud3l motherboard with a core 2 quad q9550 processor. I overclocked my cpu to 3.64 Ghz by making the FSB 429 and the multiplier 8.5. However, now im interested in overclocking my RAM. I have the corsair dominator 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) and I would like to know what voltage is safe?
What timings should I try?
How the FSB affects the RAM speed?
and any other piece of information that you think is important.

I would greatly appreciate it if someone could help me out with this!!

-Thank You

Ive got same setup with cheaper ram. Ive got mine at 2.08 Volts with 1:1 at 445x8.5 at the moment, still running prime to see if it holds.

2.2v is very safe for that ram, 2.3v should be ok for testing and 24/7 if you have good airflow, above that is a little sketchy.

If you can keep CAS at 4 when above 800mhz, that would give you the best performance. For a little more leniency try lowering the strap to 333 or even 266mhz and playing with the speed settings there.

Be sure you can get to your motherboard jumpers/battery easily - RAM overclocking is the easiest way to get stuck in a reboot loop, and you'll need to clear the CMOS.

p.s. remember though, you want to run at the lowest stable voltage.
