Please excuse my newness to UEFI. I have not dealt with this before.

I had to replace a old Motherboard on a home server that utilizes a LSI 9211-8i HBA. It is running the standard IT firmware. the only options I could find for the motherboard were all UEFI based boards and I can't seem to get the LSI card to initialize to be able to reinstall my server software.

Here is what I have from a hardware standpoint:

Gigabyte 970a-ds3p
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black
8Gb Ram
LSI 9211-8i with two 1Tb drives (I have more but just starting with 2)

I do not see it anywhere in the UEFI screens and don't see how I would be able to boot of those drives on the controller even if I could get the server hardware installed.

I'm so confused.

Have you loaded the EFI bios to the card with sas2flsh? Although all the EFI boards I have with 9211s in work fine with the legacy bios loaded.

I could not even see the card.

The MB has one PCIE x4 and one is PCIE x16 slots. I swapped the card from the PCIE x4 to the x16 slot and it works now. Duh..
