Gigabit cards and Bridged modems work together?

On board broadcom gigabit lan on my gigabyte motherboard does not respond well with my modem in bridged mode. Causes a hang at the beginning of windows startup. Is anyone else having this problem? Did many tests to come to this conclusion

So is there a known problem with gigabit lan and bridged modems? Or is it just my on board gigabit and/or bridged mode Zyxel p-660r-elnk modem?
