Ghosting varies on a LCD?

I noticed that my HP 19" LCD monitor has pretty bad ghosting when I first turn the monitor on, but then after it runs for like 20 minutes or so, it starts to go away to barely being noticeable. Anyone notice this? It's no problem at all, but was just curious if anyone else's LCD had this kind of behavior. I mainly notice it if I fire up a dark game right away (like Doom 3 or Quake 3). When I look around, I see horrible trails. But fire up that game maybe 10-20 minutes later, and it looks great.

If anything I would think that maybe it's because the LCD heats up, and at higher temperatures there is less resistance or something.
 
My 17" LCD had the same problem, and I just gave that to my mom and bought myself a 19" CRT monitor.

I don't know what causes the LCD to leave trails, but mine had that problem all the time, not just when I first turn the monitor on.

Your mom got a nice monitor. :p I think almost all LCD's have some degree of ghosting, just some a little worse then others. It's not really a "problem" per say, as it's just a trade off of having a LCD, since it's the way they are. It's not like its a defect in it. I believe the responce time of the monitor is the deciding factor of how bad of ghosting will be present.

But yea, I know my monitor will have some degree of ghosting, I accept that, and honestly don't care. Especially since it's a 19", and I think the 17" and 15" usually have a faster responce time. My old 15" LCD that is about almost 4 years old barely has any ghosting at all. I was just wondering if other people's LCD's did what mine did.
