who has it? i'm looking for a comparative review between the wii and 360 version. the 360 version looks better but the wii controls might be awesome so i'm hoping they have different stories.

how is multiplayer? is there story co-op or just the mini games?

I'm wanting to hear some user reviews on this as well, as I'm prepared to buy it sight unsee,n due to the level of blind fanatical love I hold for the first Ghostbusters movie.

The review outlet sites are popping up anything from lame to average, and that's adding trepidation to my wont to purchase.

Bump for more news, it's like you people all have jobs or something and aren't at home playing games so you can tell me whether they suck or not. Jeez, the nerve.

Bustin' makes me feel good!

I'm intrested, most likely a rental.

Well, spent about 1 hour in the game. I think I am only in the beginning. :) The scripts are great. Like watching a movie hearing the guys talking in paranormal jargons while you are trying to zip the ghost. Peter is always the funny one here. Just like the movie, you don't kill the ghost. You have to zip away their energy. This can take time to do. When the energy level is low enough, you have to hit left shoulder button to drag the ghost in. You then have to move the character as well as where you are aiming. You then hit the X button to setup the trap. Then, you just have to get the ghost near the trap and literally put the ghost inside the trap. Is a lengthy process. Imagine you are dealing with 3 to 6 ghosts at once.... Fortunately, you are always fighting with the guys. You are never really alone in the game. You also have the PKE meter. You can use to scan, reveal, and ID spirits. Every time you do that you earn money. You then use the money to upgrade your proton pack.

The game is not a shooter. A bit slower pace in a way. Is more like playing the Ghostbuster the Movie. Each action scene is linked with a script of event. You then jump to another action scene. Graphics are pretty good. I am playing the Xbox version.

I haven't played it but isn't it repetative? Looks like all you do is zap ghosts in the same exact manner over and over from the videos I've seen. Just different scenery and some cutscenes inbetween

Ultimately you need to perform the same routine to trap ghost. However, you can't trap them when they have full energy. That's when you are equipped with the latest weapons. Right now, I am inside the library hall. I am equipped with a stasis proton pack. No, I haven't figured out how to use it effectively to capture this spirit transformed into a huge book monster. :) If you like the movie, get the game. Is like playing and watching the movie at the same time. Now, you have Peck, the guy who put you in jail in the first ghostbuster, being the chairperson of the paranormal activities committee. You are to report to him from now on.....:)

I bought it just based off my love for the movies. Story is actually written by Ramis and Akroyd so that's a huge plus for me. I have only played 3 hours or so on single player but its a lot of fun. I am assuming that it will be a bit short but there is a bunch of stuff to scan and collect so that will get me to go back through it. Haven't tried the Professional difficulty yet either.

All in all if you like the movies I don't know why you wouldn't at least rent it. Just from what I have played if playing on Live is any fun I am more than happy with the purchase. Feels like a good cheesy Ghostbusters movie.

I have the Wii version and it's hella fun.

Controls take some getting used to, especially when capturing ghosts. As noted, you have to kind of wear down the ghost's energy before you can capture it. This requires steady aiming (the ghosts are moving) as well as moving around (if it goes behind a pillar, your beam will break off), and proton pack management (it shuts off after it gets too hot - there's a meter in the upper left corner to let you know). Capturing ghosts does get a bit repetitive, but there are also other things to kill, like the paper zombies, the video game sprites (use the shockwave), and the library book monster (boson darts will be your best friend here).

After you wear the ghost down, you'll get an indication that you have them trapped and you'll need to slam them into a few walls to finish them off. If you are alone, you'll need to throw out a trap and bring the ghost in. If you are with someone, one of the other ghostbusters will throw the trap out.

It's mostly 1 player, but before you head out for each job, you'll have the option of playing alone or with a friend. I haven't had a friend play with me yet, so I can't comment on that.

The characters look great, the sounds/voice acting are excellent, and it's, in my opinion, a great game. I just finished the library level and am now in the ghost world. Fun times!

I only finished the first level so far, It was really fun though. I set the difficulty on the highest setting, and I'm getting stomped out on the second level.

Second level you see the marshmallow man, he has some little dog-marshmallow minion looking things. It's pretty awesome when you hit them with the proton pack, they get kind of burnt looking like a smore or something.

The details are really cool, I spent a few mins running around the firehouse looking at the items from the movies.

The jokes are pretty funny, the only bad thing is if you die you have to watch the whole scripted sequence again, if you have it on the hardest difficulty and die a lot, you will memorize the dialogue lol.

I got the game (360) as soon as the store opened. I only could play a few hours of it however i'm on chapter 4 and truly is a really good game I could see myself beating this game a few times and not getting sick of it. After the first 2 chapters u start getting more and more away from the "old" stuff but still the same type game play which really plays like a movie. All the characters are always saying different things and its surly going to make you laugh. Well worth the money on the 360 version.

I think overall it was a well created game and it resembles what the movies are about and adds a little flavor to those old time memories.

Its not repetative due to every thing is differnt in the catch. Not all "ghosts" you trap. You can kill some with your "freeze ray" and so on. they have it well suited that it don't become boring after a while. Yes its the same thing if you but it like "You jsut zap and trap" but its not just that. U have to fight the ghosts to get into the trap i have had a lot of ghosts in the trap zone and have failed due to them fighting it.

You can compare it to fishing. when you catch a fish its the same thing over and over again the only difference is the fight they give (depending on the size) but its that amount of difference that makes the trip worth doing. Well its basically the same thing. Theirs just enough to make it seem different and not to be repetitive.

But if you get the 360 version i heard that its better to beat the game first before playing it on live due to spoilers if you just jump right on live with it. I haven't checked it due to i just really started it and don't care for to many spoilers.

I picked it up along with the bluray of the first movie yesterday.

The game is quite cool. The dialog and "feel" of the game is spot on. Capturing ghosts is a ton of fun, especially once you have them captured and are fighting to get them into the traps.

That said, it is not a finely honed "a-tier" action game. I'd almost compare it to something like Mass Effect or The Darkness in that the action is not super polished like GOW or COD4 or something. Also like those, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts due to getting some things JUST right and having a great atmosphere and characters.

My girlfriend was making fun of the kid in a candystore look on my face the first time I wrangled a ghost into a trap, so that says something. :D

Graphics are serviceable but a ways behind the best of the generation, and that's on the 360 version. Sound is quite good. Controls are pretty good but corridor sequences are really clumsy compared to the set piece battles in big ballrooms and things. I stopped playing at the sea captain last night but may pick it back up today. Can see it getting a tad repetitive but again I'm not too far in. Haven't tried MP yet.

Wii version here. My GF and I played it for like an hour last night. Lots of fun. We were both grinning like school children when we found we were going after the Marshmallow Man.

They send you after the Marshmallow Man after only playing for an hour?
