I am soon to receive two raptors and I would like to set them up in a RAID 0 array for optimum performance.

What I do not want to do is re install vista, so do you think it is possible to ghost the OS from my WD 80gb 7200rpm to the raptors in RAID0.

BTW the Wd is a single drive not in RAID.

Depends on the ghost software. Most of the home stuff doesn't allow you to install extra drivers. You could prob setup the raid and clone the os from windows using symantecs ghost home.

Vista also has something built in to do image backups. Never tried it so I can't say how well it works.

Yeah in theory it is sound but we all know how well theory holds up in reality. I would really like to save myself the mess of reinstalling. If anyone else could offer more insight I would be greatly appreciative. TY swatbat for giving me some hope.

i do it all the time.

as long as you can see your raid array already up in windows, the driver is already there.

then i use casper XP to ghost one drive to the other. from single to a raid set. Just unplug the old drive, my new one boots good. just be sure to set "active" or "boot" if your clone has that option.
