Ghost - Clone HD Format?

I've never used Ghost, but I know it can clone a HD. Not creating an image, but basically a disk-to-disk copy on the fly. Question is, do I have to physically format the HD first? Or will Ghost do that as part of the process? I've got Ghost from Systemworks 2002 Pro and will be cloning a Windows 2000 drive to a new larger HD.

If I do have to format, is there an easy way to find out if the old disk is FAT32 or NTFS? Just run FDISK or something?

It's best to leave the destination drive completely unformatted. Ghost will take car of all of that.
