i recently totaled my side panel trying to mod a window into it and i've been to lazy to order a replacement one from the case company. having the panel off helps with temps a little, but my video card has been getting real hot lately. i took an extra 80mm clear case fan and superglued it to a pci slot cover which i bent to hold the fan over my video card. i just screwed it on top of my sound card and it just basically floats there. my vid card is a sapphire 9600 np which is cooled only by a heatsink so it gets pretty hot. i also included a picture of my wire mess. enjoy.

after running a game for a couple minutes, my video card would become hot to the touch. now it's barely even warm. btw i have it sucking air off my card, rather than vice versa.

i did the same thing sorta like you did, except i glue 4 thumbtacks into the fan holes then added 4 erases to the end and placed it blowing over my gf3 ti 200 when the fan died on it.

works great

my 9600xt doesnt get too hot now, runs about 34C with stock cooler.

Wow, I just did the same thing to my big brother's case, except my fan is mounted in the side panel.
 
Maybe cleaning all that dust inside your computer will help.. It looks like the afghan desert in there.
 
kronchev: Antec has side pannles with windows and fans in them already so... whay to rip off Antec (cheaftech has them too but thats b/c they are made in china and folow difrent patent laws, if made here, eligal, if made there sold here, its OK)
