My Gainward geforce 4 ti4200 has a noisy fan.. is it normal? I dont have another video card to compare it with as my other ones dont have fans.
The best way to describe the noise is.. my computer sounds silent if I stop that fan. My P4 fan, 80mm exhaust, and psu fan isnt as whirry..

So is that how all fans sound? I have been considering one of those Thermaltake heatsink/fan things.. but if they sound the same then I wont bother.

i had the same problem, then i got the Zalman Heatpipe w/o the fan

works fine for me :D

so presumeably all video card fans are noisy and overwhelming.. I guess i can consider that zalman though its more than the $12 I was considering spending.
