for those of you who dont know that a proper Airflow is vital, let me shed some light on ya

1. proper airflow reduces overall system temperature
2. reduces temperature on components - Video Card and CPU etc
3. Longer life on PC

very recently, i had an overheating 6800GT that no matter what i did, it was running hot. Under load, it was something like 90+ degrees Celcius. yeah, Boiling point.

I even opened the case and watch the temperature on it drop somewhat, but it was still not stasfactory (high 80's)

well, i got it down to 80 and 79. What did i do?

i screwed up my case tight and have Rear fan and side fan to blow out. there was a opening right under the front of the case that allow the cooler air to blow ; working with the two fans blowing out.

ensure that the fans blowing out are higher than the fans blowing in.

last but not least, I REMOVED THE PCI COVER RIGHT BENEATH MY 6800GT.

this was what really dropped my temps. I believe it worked because Nvidia's Fan sucked cool air through that opening and blow it over my GPU.

here is a pic to help u guys:

THE END

have you considered an after-market cooler like a zalman or a artic-cooling. they help ALOT!

yeah, the Arctic cooler works two fold. It removes GPU heat as well as case heat.

the only thing is that they do not cool Memory chips on the GPU

So buy some ram sinks.
