this is what i'm running right now:
5:4
2.8e-3.3ghz stock hsf stock volts
ai7 with gameacceleration-speed racer
ocz pc4000[default is 2.5.4.4.7 i think] at 2.3.3.6 with 2.6 volts
all of this runs STABLE, but i do get an error on prime95 after a few minutes.
Will better timings , 1:1 and a 3.2hz speed be better than what i'm doing right now?
any help is appreciated.
 
yeah mabe a better heatsink would help, but you should be able to crank prime95 all night long without any problems if its stable.

I dont know much about pentiums so all i can say is, grab some benchmarks and test out what youve got now and then 3.2ghz and better timings to see

You have PC4000. Use a 1:1 ratio!! :)
 
Use memtest for the ram...........test 5 or stnd.......Then prime using small fft's for the cpu.......Use blend later on for the Northbridge then ramped it up some more........

I don't have a 2.8e, but I do have a 3.0c and have a 2.8c and an AI7 with similar RAM (Geil Ultra-Plat spec'd timings are 2.5-4-4-7).

I found the best all around performance to be with my 3.0c @ 237fsb with GAT A-A-A-A-A, N/B strap to 667, RAM 1:1 2.5-4-4-7. I can run my ram at 265fsb 1:1 with the 2.8c, but memory scores are lower since PAT isn't (can't be on my system) enabled at that speed.

Setting the N/B strap to 667 will enable full PAT at any FSB. If strap is 800 then PAT will be disabled, but you can have partial pat with GAT settings (if your ram can handle it...mine can't handle GAT=Turbo...but strap=667 is fine).

My memory performace was better at 237fsb w/full PAT than it was at 265fsb w/o PAT.

like someone else mentioned, change your settings and run some benches. Keep a spreadsheet of your results after each run with those settings. but definately use 1:1 ratio with pc4000. Timings aren't as important on a P4 (b/c long pipeline) as they are on an AMD.
 
Yeah really AT PC3200 the timings cease to matter, deffinately when you cross the 3500 plateu I wouldn't worry, just stick with cas 2.5, the rest of the timings stop mattering too much...
