Getting some new stuff and have questions...

Well, I recenlty ordered a cooling job for my computer. I ordered the things as follows:

Thermalright SP-97
3x80mm fans(all fans are aluminum)
1x92mm fan
1x120mm fan
Some VGA ram sinks
Arctic Silver 5

My frist question is about how I should remove the stuff from the thermal pad on the stock HSF from the CPU. (Would rubbing alchohol work?)

My second is about applying the AS5. I'm assuming since my 2800+ has a small CPU die that I should use a small dropof the stuff on the die and let it get smushed/spred by the HS, my only worry is that it will leakout over the die and touch something its not supposed to, like a tracer or something, and fry my CPU. I know they say it's not electricly conductive but seeing as how it has silver filings in it I'm not so sure if that's 100% ture.

And third, well, I guess I don't have a third. I guess that's it.

Anyway, thanks for the help people. :)

I tested the stuff, as I dodn
t believe them, and it was far from conductive. To get anything more than inductive current between two electrodes .1 mm apart in AS5, I had to go over 2 kilivolts. Not cnductive.

My advice would be to take 1.5 times the size of a grain of rice, put t on your hjeatsink, then wipe it off slowly. Then put the same amount on your CPU and smush it with the 'sink.
