Getting SATA; Cables?

I'm getting a SATA harddrive and a computer case that comes with a generic PSU, how would I go about connecting the SATA drive? Does the PSU need it's own SATA connections or do the SATA drives come with SATA-IDE plug thingies?
 
Both of the SATA drives I have (Brand new WD 250gb's, got them last week at BestBuy) have regular 4-pin molex connectors. If your SATA drive needs a special power connector, you can get a 4-pin to SATA at most any computer store for a few bucks.
 
I'm getting the WDs as well, but I thought that the PSU needed to have SATA connections, just like they have IDE connections, is that true?

Some SATA drives will have both power options the 4-pin molex and the SATA Power, you can get a converter to sata power anywhere, they are 1-2 bucks if that.
 
please do not get a generic psu. they usually are not exactly reliable. head over to the Power Supply forum and read up on some quality ones. i would hate to see a bad psu explode on you and lose all your precious data.
 
There are no IDE connections on the PSU. Ther power connectors are 4 pin molex connectors. The SATA drives that I bought use the same type of power connector that my IDE HDD's and DVD burner use.

I doubt that. The majority of the power consumption on a HDD comes from the spindle motor and the head's actuator. Even is SATA was more efficient from a power consumption standpoint, I doubt that it'd make a significant different in the overall figures. However, I have as little proof to offer as you...
