System specs:

Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
Core 2 Quad Q6600 at stock speeds
Gigabyte EP45-UD3P motherboard
4GB RAM (unknown make/model/speed) not OC'd. Windows Memory Diagnostic Tool reports no errors

Kingston 128GB SSD
8800GTS at stock

This is my work computer, put together with a bunch of spare parts my brother and I each had taking up closet space. I've been getting random lockups all over the place, no apparent rhyme or reason.

Any ideas here?

How long have you had it together?

Did you recently move to Windows 10, or did the problems start after that? How long has it been since the problems started / has it been a problem from day 1 when you built this?

How old is the PSU / what wattage / brand / model?

Do you have any other components you can swap in for troubleshooting purposes? Extra RAM, HDD/SSD, GPU, mobo, PSU, etc?

Don't really have enough to go on yet, but we can narrow it down.

Been put together since March 2015. No problems prior to upgrade to Win 10 upon its release. Only started getting lockups about a month ago.

No idea on the PSU, and no extra parts nearby.

I'd start with the PSU -- "random" tends to mean PSU/RAM/mobo in my experience, in that order of likelihood. GPU is possible, but less likely -- if it's GPU it's normally a clear "I did something 3D and it shit the bed" pattern.

Get like OCCT and Furmark, run both at the same time -- does it die on you? If so, first thing I would replace / find a spare for would be the PSU. Info should be on the label -- crack the case and see what it is.

Also run a more thorough memory test, like http://www.memtest86.com/ -- several passes, and try different test methods.

Another vote for psu. In my experience most likely part to wear out the fastest and most frequent. Kinda like belts in a car.

drivers.

what do you mean random lock ups?

blue screens? reboots? hard freezes?? does the sound freeze if you have something playing???

run prime 95 for an hour
run msi kombuster for an hour
run memtest86 for at least two passes

then post back

Drivers are up to date. Been getting random BSODs, and hard freezes requiring a reset. No random resets though. Been a while since last BSOD (maybe 2 weeks), the hard freezes started since the last BSOD.
