Getting new SSD boot drive. Do these steps look good?

So I'm waiting on a Samsung 830 128gb. It looks like it will spit in the faces of my 2x G.Skill 64GB in raid-0 ( jmicron controllers ).

I'm using 30GB *total* currently on both drives so space should not be an issue.

The steps I'm looking at doing will be:
1. Install Sammy SSD in system
2. Install Sammy software on old drive and check new and install firmware (reboot if needed)
3. Run AHCI reg tweak so AHCI driver installs on following boot
4. Use windows 7 backup to create images of the 2 partitions on new drive (Sys Reserve/Windows)
5. Shut down then swap out old drives, then enable AHCI in Bios

Oh yeah, I guess somewhere I should make sure its a active drive?!?

Live long and prosper.

Win 7 backup won't make a bootable image (i.e. clone the drive) so you can't go directly from the old drives to the new that way. You'd need to put the image on a third drive and then resotre that image to the new drive. Easier to use Clonezilla or something to directly clone the drives over (if it works with the RAID, not sure about that part). And if you are using RAID mode now, you shouldn't need to do anything th get AHCI working - the AHCI driver should already be installed in Win 7.

Clonezilla Limitation:
Software RAID/fake RAID/firmware RAID is not supported by default. It's can be done manually only.

Bummer. I do have a external USB 120gb drive I could back the image to and then do a restore but I swear there was something about just making the image to the drive it was actually a clone.

EDIT: I found that Samsung offers Norton Ghost 15 on the product page. Hoping this works :)
EDIT 2: Does this drive need to be aligned for windows 7. Like Align=1024??
