specs:
A7N8X-E Deluxe
Athlon XP 2700+ (retail)
512 Megs Dual Channel PC 3200

ok so i got everything installed and working fine, but overlooked that it was running at 166mhz fsb

so i go and change the multiplyer to 10.5 and the fsb to 200mhz (=2100mhz). the computer posts fine, but windows hangs while booting and restarts the computer, (i caught a glimps one time of a blue screen of death right before it restarts, it restarts very quickly).

the most optimal way i can get it to start is 166mhz fsb and a 13multiplyer(=2158mhz). and thats the way it's been running ever since i hooked it up.

what should i do?
is it because the multiplyer is locked? bios posted at a multiplyer at 10.5 i dont see what the problem is. would it be windows?

The Geil RAM is likely to be your problem.

It could be a host of things, including the RAM, the processor, the board, your power supply, etc etc....

More specs shalt now be required.

no your probably wrong. its probably not the geil ram

i just put more thought into it, and it's the fact that the athlon xp 333mhz fsb ;)

answered my own question, unless anyone else can think of it

i don't think anything can be done unless i unlock the cpu or one of you people have a miracle trick up your sleeves

but to entertain you:
bios 1008
sata disabled
gigalan disabled
no floppy
350w enermax
geforce 4200
all ata 133 cabling for...
200 gig seagate
60 gig wester digi
30 gig maxtor
40x lite-on
usb2.0 + firewire hooked up but no deviced installed yet
using the onboard lan and sound (sound is amazing btw)
