Getting HDD to work on PCI controller

I just installed a promise Ultra133 TX2 IDE Controller and i cant get the hard drive to work. i cleaned and formatted it. i tried with jumpers on cable select, slave, and master and when i boot it says system disk failure. when i dosconnect it, everything works fine.

i installed the included drivers as well, and windows sees the card.

any clues as to what im doin wrong?
 
It's trying to boot off the drive, which if you have an os somewhere else, this could cause an issue. You'll need to mess with the boot order in the bios.
 
i have, and its set to boot to HDD, but theres not a choice as to which HDD to boot to.
 
I had a similar problem with a Dell at work. I was unable to find a way to boot from the non-PCI device HDD. Unless you find a BIOS had, you will not be able to do it.
 
i figured it out. there was a weird option about the boot order and it had the pci card first and the the other hard drives, so i just moved the pci card to the end and windows saw the 120gb as 37 or 34 gb, i had the jumpers on cable select, so with em on master all is well.

now i just gotta find hardware to mount another HDD in my case when i find a good deal on another drive.
