getting free internet

hey i am new and i heard this forum is very helpful and unselfish and i hope i get some help here.well,my friend has done this : he has changed his mac address to that of someone from his network and he now enjoys free internet but he wouldnt tell me how to do that.we have wireless internet(cable).can anyone tell me a way(s) of finding mac adresses of ppl in my network and how to change that to mine and get free internet
