I've tried tons of modelines, but none of them seem to work. Xorg still shows it auto-testing every modeline till it finds one that works. So, to keep it from autotesting each boot up, I just want to put the modeline it auto-selects. But I do not know what it is....

Is there a program I can run and it will tell me the modeline it is running in?

Also, I would like to add pidgin in "startup programs," but the problem is, I do not have xinerama enabled because I game. So the screens being seperated, I need pidgin to open up on the second monitor. Is there a command/trick in order to achieve this?

something like, I dunno..

-workspace_index="display:0.1"

thanks for any help.

if your other monitor is a completely seperate X display, then you can either set the environment variable DISPLAY or i think you can also do pidgin --display=:0.0

For your second issue check out devilspie. It will allow you to specify which desktop, where on the desktop, min/max, etc for any app you want.
