Don't really care to look to see what I need to setup this time, so if someone gets some free time and wants to tell me what I need to do, I'll appreciate it.

I'm rocking an i7 870 w/ 470 GTX GPU on my main rig.
A10-5800K on my server (not really being used for anything atm)
Intel Pentium G870 on my HTPC that doesn't get used all that often.

What should I do?

you should be able to just install the 7.3.6 client since you are on windows, it'll pick up settings for cpu and video card.

it looks like you've had a TON of returned WUs with no points, this isn't good, are your systems completely stable?

also, i just past you, so don't go more than 100k ppd and you'll be fine ;)

Nothing is overclocked, so they should be stable.

As for the 100k ppd, if this new job goes though i'll be a 4p mafia member in a few months. ;)

I still have the old clients installed on my main rig w/ 470... seems the 470 wont get a new WU. It just sits at the test WU and wont do anything.

might want to remove old clients, update to 7.3.6

also, if you do upgrade to 7.3.6 make sure to open F@H Control / Web Control and slide over to "Full" so your GPU starts folding right away (instead of waiting for computer to go idle)

Okay then I will remove them. I'm gonna wait for this WU to finish, it's at 75% right now. (For the CPU) then I will donload 7.3.6 and rock. Would it be worth it to load 7.3.6 on the other two computers as well?

that's weird that cpu is cranking along. maybe adding the beta flag to your gpu will get you better results. if you know how to do that with the version you are running, i'd try that before upgrading. do you know what version you're running?

This. I'm running v6.41 with a GTX550Ti and have had to add the -forcegpu nvidia_fermi flag or else it grabs a core 11 and won't run, same for a GTX650Ti in another machine. Your 470 is a fermi so adding the flag will just override the auto detect which doesn't always work properly. If you're running v6.23 or older then it won't grab core 15's at all. I like the v641 systray client for machines that a part time gamers as its easy to pause/disable and then resume/restart using the icon. Just another thought: if you haven't folded for awhile and you're using IE9 or later for browsing, you might find it helpful to use software rendering instead of GPU rendering in Internet Options/Advanced tab. GPU accelerated browsing while GPU folding was sluggish and inconsistent on my machines until I turned it off. Welcome back !

Ouch.

Well, on your first box, I would OC the cpu. In regard to the gpu, that is going to be expensive to run...but then both will be expensive to run. Unsure if the Pentium is worth it...

Seems I had the -betateam flag on the GPU still, might be why it was causing issues?

This is the new log it created with the new flag.

Still doesn't seem to be working correctly. Anytime I load up the display, it shows the test protein, then it jumps to "Protein" and it seems to restart that Protein every time it loads. Always below 1% when I load up the "display"...

try one of the v7 clients if you are doing it under windows.

Will try v7, I forgot to set the -oneunit flag on the last WU for the CPU and this one is at 30% right now. So the client should auto stop when this WU is done.

I hope all those blank WUs that the GPU client sent in doesn't hurt me.

Unsure on the GPU clients.

I think the 7.3.x clients use the web control(sucks) and 7.2.x do not.

7.3.6 does the web control, but still installs the F@HControl, so you just go to your programs on the start menu and put a shortcut to your desktop/taskbar and i remove the flag under advanced config for web control.

You also miss a few other settings and they add the throttle control to the gui.

I like my gui but I also like simplicity :)

i have it figured out though, it's not so bad, all the settings are there, they just aren't where you're used to them being, ie, you can still right-click a slot to Fold/Pause/Finish since the buttons aren't at the top anymore

Hi guys.

I think I'll be getting back in the game, too. You may remember me, I made some of the first badges for the [H]orde. :)

Welcome back, damn 12 years registered, you must have joined when I first started to read [H].

haha... I wouldn't doubt it. I have several years of pure dormancy. The color scheme here is hard on the eyes so I tend to stop visiting. :)

No, just anything but white text on a dark background.

Lol... I greatly prefer that to black text on white background...

Welcome back you two!

Really? On backlight screens a dark background with light text is meant to be better on the eyes then a white background and black text.

If the text were dimmer, I think that may hold true. But the bright white lines cause me to see stripes when I look away from the monitor.

Anyways, not trying to derail the guys thread.

Still waiting for my first work unit to finish, at 60%. :)
