Getting Aqua Computer ... Need Input

This is my first WC project ...

Specs...

Lian Li v1000 / SW
Mb Vi39L
Cpu 478
X700 pro
512mb / gonna upgrade
* System is not overclocked

Aqua Computer Specs ....

Cuplex XT CPU Block for P4 (478 & 775) 4-hole mounting

Not on planning to overclock just to keep my Cpu / Gpu cool while playing games like COD2 but for some reason i bought the Fatal1ty Zalman for the x700 temps i was getting in stock fan at ease 105f / Zalman 107-110f didnt really change remained the same as to the stock fan and the cpu seemd to get a little warmer than usual. So i wanna try the WC. How good is the Aqua Computer cooling kit and is it worth the money im gonna pay for on the kit. On a note ive checked and re-thermal paste the x700 and cpu nothing change as to the Zalman suppose to do. In the long run how will the Aqua Computer kit maintain to good performace. Any pre-cautions that i should be aware of other than leaks. Wanna get your guy's opinion before i buy the kit on Thursday. Thanks in advance for the replies..
 
If you dont plan on overclocking there really isn't any reason to get the XT. Get the Cuplex Pro instead, you will save 40$ and you wont notice a big enough difference in temperatures to matter.

I am assuming that you are chosing aquacomputer equipment because you like how it looks? (since you dont seem to have any of their trinkets like the multiswitch or aquaero in your buy list). If it isn't the case that you are getting the aqua computer for the looks then there is no reason why you cant get a cheaper setup which will get the job done just as well. Just about any DIY watercooling setup will cool down even the hottest components at stock more than adequately.

Just thought I should clarify, I am not trying to talk you out of getting aqua computer gear, so please AC fanatics...no flames.

Sure it looks nice. reason for buying is i want something thats compact which will fit inside my Lian Li v1000, originally i was gonna get the Zalman Reserator1 Plus but the reserator is just a little to big which i want something compact which will fit inside my Lian Li and of course want something thats gonna last me a long time. Ive done many search reviews on all WC kits some good some flaws. Ive search reviews for the AC systems not much of a negative feedback. Hopefully my post doesnt start any flame throwing im just needing some inputs on my first WC kit and tips to maintain the unit. Somewhere down the road i will OC once i figure out how to do it. At this point im upgrading little by little .
Pls feel free to pour in your knowledge on WC.

But you always say the same thing. Haven't ever heard you say the same about Swiftech, DD, or your beloved Silverprop which is also really quite expensive in North America.
 
You will really like the AC gear you have planned out. For a slight performance increase you could also use 8mm or 3/8" ID tubing. What country do you live in? The 3.5 controller will also allow you to OC the Aquastream pump for increased output. You can also add on an Aquaero for added functionality at a later date.

I'm going to Sharka in a few minutes so I will see if they have the 8mm fittings in stock yet that you would need.

Actually the 3/8" I.D. tubing is 10mm, 8mm is 5/16 and with all the gear he's wanting to cool would be easier to manage than 1/2" O.D. tubing.

To the OP you might want to consider either going multple loop or going multi pump if you decide to add a NB block and the Ramplex along with any other blocks. If you add too much head loss to your system with multiple blocks you'll eventually have a column of water that won't move very fast at all so splitting it up with multiple loops or running 2 pumps in series will help to keep the flow rate at a point where you'll still be getting good cooling along your loop.

Top Nurse can elaborate more on the joys of multi-loop than I can though.
 
Wouldn't it be better to go with a BIPII rather then a BIPI? I mean the BIPII is only $35, while the BIPI is $28, so for $7 you might as well no?

:confused: I guess next time I wont recommend an AC block.....

@ the OP : You said you want something compact. Have you considered the Laing DDC pump? It is much more compact than the Eheim you are looking at, and will probably perform better to boot. It will however be a tad noisier, though not much at all.
 
The DDC pump will be a good choice as well, but there is no way to control it through the Aquaero at a later date. Everybody thinks that more is better, but the Aquastream can go from low low flow all the way to moderate flow depending on your choice of tubing. When I was at Sharka today they do have the 8mm compression fittings in G 1/8 (to fit the AC blocks and reservoirs) and the G 1/4 (to fit the radiators) as well. Call and ask Wes if you don't see it on their site. My personal opinion is that the 3/8" hose barbs are over rated if you look at the internal diameter of the fitting, but do what works best for you. Even Cathar thought 8mm hoses were okay. ;)

BTW, are you the one that wanted the blue light switch for your V1000? I got Wes's Aquaero flashed and up and running today that he had sitting on the front desk. :D

Actually that part of your post wasn't a bad recommendation. :) The difference between the Cuplex Pro and the Cuplex XT is only about 1-1.5 degree Celcius IIRC. However, that is usually the difference between the fair and the best waterblocks if memory seves me well. :D

The V series cases are easy to set up with 120 size rads as they are basically bolt-on operations to the front and rear fans already in place.

This would be something to consider if your flush, but I think the Aquastream will be just fine for what you want to do.

Nope I got it right as Wes told me he was doing a build for someone who got a Bulgin blue switch for the front.
