Getting add-on HD in XP?

Trying to add a backup HD for my RAID array and I can't get XP to fdisk or format the new HD. BIOS recognizes and the drive shows in Device Manager, but there's no drive letter! Properties show it as drive 0(0) or something. Thought there might be some admin tool for formatting like in win2000, but I couldn't find one.

Do you still have to Dos boot to fdsik in winXP? I even tried that, but everytime I floppy booted the new HD would disappear in the bios. Strange

My RAID is C-drive and I've got two SCSI cd's with nothing on IDE before. I enabled everything on the IDE channels so that's not it.

Trying to ghost a backup so I can change rigs and it's driving me crazy!

Computer management -> Storage -> Disk Management -> Then I think you right-click the drive and go to create/format partition or something. I've only done it once before.

Thanks I'll try that. I just tried it with no drives and noticed it said I had my Logical Drive Service disabled. That's probably it. When I enable that service it'll probably work!
