Getting a Danger Den kit, which radiator?

I'm getting a kit for my A64 3700+ (1MB, so it's hot) and my 6800GT. I want maximum cooling performance without it being too loud. Which radiator should I go with? Can I properly cool both parts with one system? Thanks.

If you're going all Danger Den, just get their dual fan heater core if it'll fit in/on your case. Even the single fan heater core should cool your system pretty well but the dual will do a bit better.

So the dually should provide me with enough love for a real good cooling job on both components? Outstanding!

Make or buy a decent fan shroud for it, get decent cfm fans and a dual 120mm heater core or black ice will handle the heat with ease.

oh since we on the topic of rads, I have a BIX, will adding a shroud help airflow? Because now I'm regretting I got it and opted for a heatercore instead...

Tenks: yes it will help. make that it is like an inch tall. you dont like the performance of it, i use to use a bip2 and now i have a bix2. and i love them both, they are expensive but they perform and when space is tight, there is nothing better.

if i didnt had the space problems i would have gone for a heatercore. just because of the cost

thelostrican: Did you create your own shroud? Or did you buy one? If you bought one for the BIX, can you tell me where? Cuz DD doesnt sell any :(

Just make one yourself, lots cheaper and you can make it with as much back spacing as you have room for. You should have at least 1 inch though.

i bought one of the shrouds from Voyeurmods.com, which are to thin, but i used that and some plexi, and made it about an 1 inch tall.

mine is a dual fan per side bix2
if you have bix "one fan per side" there are this shrouds for it too.

I would highly recommend looking for a rad other than what DD offers. I run their 6800 and 2 barbed A64 blocks witht heir new pump, but use a D-Tek Pro heatercore. It is leaps and bounds beyond the BlackIce and other rads DD sells. The cool thing about the D-Tek is that is comes with all the work done, but you ge the benefit of a real heater core.

u could also just get the black ice extreme 2 dual 120mm rad liek im getting...its a good option.

It is also uber expensive and doesn't cool nearly as good as heatercores half its size.

i wouldnt go as far as saying that, half its size? nah...
heatercores of comparative size maybe, depnding on the fans etc. if you go for low noise ,low cfm, the thinner of the two should get better temps, with faster fans the thicker one would start to shine...

when thinking about heatercore one has to think in how much cash your saving, and if you have the space for it.

i think that weapon has tracked down a thin smal dual 120 rad, that should eat a bix2 or bip2

I'm just going off published data from Black Ice, reviews of it and 120mm heatercores like the D-Tek. I also have a few friedns who have used thema nd were really disappointed. The black ice rads are really piss poor performers from a dollar/degree standpoint. If you can fit 2x120 then fit a big heatercore for less money. It will blow that BlackIce away.

The guy doesn't have to listen to me or anyone else...its his money, but he did ask so I'm giving my experiences.

I am also getting into watercooling for my first time. I am planning on picking up this radiator . So far its one of the best priced dual 120mm radiators that I have found. I have picked up this case so I have plenty of room. I am also thinking about getting the RBX block and eheim 1250 pump. What do you guys think about that radiator?

that is a nice rad. It just happens to be made from a heatercore. It will serve you well. This is exactly the kind of things I'm talking about, it will outperform the BlackIce type rads for a fraction of the cost. Good choice.

thats is a great heatercore, if matched with good powerfull fans, and shroud ( all rads need them in my opinion to kill the dead spots and in this case to cool all the surface area.) put two panaflos @7v and it will cool the same as a bip2. which is not bad at considering it cost less.
why?
because @ 2 inches thick, the fans are not strong enough.

dont get me wrong, when space is available, there is nothing like a heatercore, specially one that is ready to go.
but when you got little to no space the bip2 with low cfm fans or a bix2 with higher cfm fans will do the job.
dont get hasty einsig all we are doing is exchanging ideas we are on the same boat
