getting 2 6800GTs...quick question or two

To SLI them, I havent decided on the motherboard just yet, but i'll probably go with an Asus board. Pairing these up with am amd 64 3700, 2 gigs of pc3200, etc.

Couple of questions I have, To SLI them, do I need to buy the connector that bridges the cards across the top, or is that included with video cards, or is there an SLI kit with 2 6800GTs included? (had my eyes on the MSI card with the copper heatsinks attatched, and they are cheaper than the rest)

Also, what reasonably priced power supply would you reccomend to power these beasts?

If there was something else I should have asked please let me know.
 
From what i've seen the SLI connector comes with the SLI motherboard you buy.
 
yea I started looking at the contents and noticed it in there, wanted to make 100%

one question down!

edit- to the guy below 230 bucks is a bit much, im sure there is something else cheaper then that.
 
yup they come included with the SLI version of the motherboards...as per the power supply, most people would prolly recommend a PC Power & Cooling 510 Turbo SLI or watever its called...
 
the enermax 600 watt power supply should be fine and cheap (relatively)... don't let anyone tell you otherwise! imo pc power and cooling is nice but unneccesary.

from my understanding AMD 64 3700+ is a socket 754 and there are no socket 754 sli mb's out yet, so you will need a socket 939 for sli

not sure if that was a typo or i'm not updated w/ my pc components :D

Nope. Pricewatch tells me that there are some socket 939 3700+s out there.

The 3700+ is a San Diego core I believe and not the venice. Either way, its a great core with the added memory fixes, think the only difference in the size of the L2.
 
The SLI connector should come with the Card or the SLI motherboard, my 6600GT come with the connector so yea but i don't have a SLI mobo :(
