So I've started looking for a scanner and realized I don't know anything about them and I thought the [H] might be able to help.
What exactly should I be looking for? The obvious thing that is always advertised is the resolution, but things like 2400x2400 dpi often tend to be nothing more than marketing gimmics (at least that's how it seems with printers), what's the scoop on that? And beyond resolution, what makes a good scanner?
Baisicly I have a 10 years of 35mm pics that I would like to be able to digitize for safe keeping, so I'm obviously looking for somthing that will scan photos well. Would like to be able to scan negatives and slides as well. So any suggestions on what attributes to look for as well as just recomendations on a good product would be great.
Thanks
