I just picked up a referbished Gway it has a AMD PHENOM 8400 TRIPLE-CORE 2.1Ghz, 3Gb ram, 360Gb harddrive, and I put in a 8500 gt, and windows vista home premium.

Right now I have the vid card putting out about 700ppd.

What is the best way to do some more folding???

yeah, adding a smp client would be the way to go.

that 8500 gt doesn't require much cpu time to feed, just make sure you config the GPU client for "slightly higher priority" and it should stay at around 700ppd while SMP is running too.

You're never going to get a decent score with a 8500GT. It only has 16 streamers which restrict the shit out of it. For FAH with nVidia, the more streamers the better such as 96 with the 8800GS or 112 with the 8800GT or the 9800GT. Spend about $100 and get yourself a decent video card and run 4500-5000 Ppd with the GPU client.

SMP Client will likely be your best bet without a GPU upgrade. The energy expended on the 8500GT may not be worth the points garnered from it.

ya I like it. I only shelled out $450.00 to get it. update on PPD SMP is geting around 1100 to 1200 and Vid is doing about 700 so thats 1800 to 2k PPD.
