I had my storage data drive fail on me and is currently in the process of being recovered by a data recovery company - not cheap.
The company informed me that the heads failed and there was damage to the firmware making the data recovery close to impossible.
That being said I had re-formatted my external drive not too long ago and it did hold some of the data that was on the failed drive. I had asked the forum about getting the formatted data back and was referred to getdataback.
The software then had a directory tree with the files of the formatted info. I found a lot of stuff that I needed and burned a copy to dvd and saved it to another hard drive. When I go to click on any data it just comes up empty - for example if I open up a photo - the jpeg view opens but nothing is shown.
Can anybody help me out with this?
