I have a E6300 ATM, and i am ready for my more processing power.... i was thinking of jumping onto the quad core band wagon.... or should i just get one of the new dual cores? currently I am running Vista, and play WoW and TF2 and i think I could get more from my system if I had a FASTTTER CPU....

suggestions?
 
My suggestion would be to get a nice CPU Cooler, like a Tuniq tower or Thermalright Ultra 120, and OC your e6300 to the max, that would give you a very nice performance boost
 
Looking at your system and the games you play, just OC your CPU and get a faster Videocard.
 
im in the same boat.. stock e6300 +8800gt 512mb. will the e6300 be a bottleneck for the 8800gt?

In that case it's unlikely that you'd be able to simply slap a new CPU in there too. Trying to put one of the new Penryns in there would be even less likely to work.
 
Best thing to do with a Dell is slap a new REAL motherboard in there, then you will be able to actually USE you processor
 
i have a zalman 9500 or w/e its called... the tall cooler with a green LED in it.

rule of thumb... NEVER BUY A DELL.

those guys know what they're doing when they sold you that ocmputer. they strip everything down and sell it to you for retail. the only way to go is to build your own.

the problem is i didnt buy them at retail. got a huge discount like a year ago. after some calculations the dell came up cheaper
