Hi, I have a few questions about General Mayhem.

Is it part of this forum, and just hidden if you don't have access to it? Or is it www.genmay.com? Are there a lot of visitors there? Does it include anything more than listed here:

Off Topic Forums include General Mayhem, the Soapbox, Web Linkage Worth Clicking, Cars, and Hobbies.

Pfft, $5? Why pay $5 when you can pay a few more (read: I think it'll cost me about $100-$125) in electricity costs and fold your way to GenMay? :)

i've heard of "sneek peaks" to GenMay. but haven't been able to find any info on when they are.

also, what does the $5 go towards on the [H] end?

the 5 (or the more worthwhile 15 :p ) go to server costs i believe (as well as being a very effective asshole filter. )

I don't know if I would call it civilized but it is not the cesspool that genmay.com is for sure.
 
That site's admins look like a bunch of pissed off sad sacks who were worthy of bannage from here, so they went off into the corner and cried like babies... If I want GenMay, I think I'll stay here...
 
We are the original General Mayhem version 2, back after several years of hiatus. The knockoff was started by one of our mods with the blessing of Kyle. It soon went south when our mod left and the inmates took over the asylum. It has gone even further south since then.

Our current GenMay is a very nice retreat, loosely moderated by Admins who were also the original moderators of the original GM who kniow how to maintain a good environment without curbing the free for all posting style. It's not a zoo, but we do have a few assorted animals roaming loose :cool:

I will not say that they are missed at all. The HardForum has grown immensely since its focus as tech-only and moving off-topic to the subscription model. I am glad Genmay.com works for them. I still think it is funny that they hate us so much but still kept many of the forum names that were my brainchild. :)
