i have green liquid coolant for cars.
made of "Ethylene Glycol" and diluting with 70% water.
anti freezing anti rusting bla bla bla...

is it good enough for switech wc kit?

i do not have alot of options, so i find it on a gas station...


edit:
btw, i find a thermaltake buttle of liquid "uv coolant", but its very (very) expensive here, and on tt's website write that the liquid should use only on tt's kits (sounds like bullsh*t).
and maybe (mayyyyybe!!) i can get some swiftech's concentrate (i think its calls hydrix)...

Take some pure antifreeze and dilute it with distilled water (should be less than $1 at a grocery store) so you have a 10% antifreeze 90% water solution.
 
edit: sorry for the newbie question.
why i need anti freezing? my wc will never go down from 20c.
but what sounds important to me is:
"anti rust, corrosion, scale reducing" like written on my green liquid buttle (from the gas station).

Yeah. The anti-freeze isn't to keep it from freezing, it's to prevent corrosion and keep things from growing in your loop. Many people use it because it takes care of those things, and since it's easier for you to get ahold of, it'll work quite well.

1. so i can use it like that, straight from the bottle ?
2. is this sounds like distilled water or regular from the tap ?
 
i've used tap water + antifreeze for more than a year now with no ill effects. my copper block is still nice and shiny :)
 
i personaly like Water Wetter. you can get it at most any auto store. it works really well.

i have a new liquid for cars: "american eagle", looks nice.
what do you think?

Antifreeze became popular a few years ago when aluminum waterblocks and radiators were more common. People would mix the aluminum and copper in a loop and the aluminum would get galvanic corrosion.Copper won't corrode by itself and is compatible with stainless steel and chrome plated brass which are the other two metals common in water cooling systems.

Antifreeze contains other chemicals to prevent galvanic corrosion and chemicals to act as a algaecide but unless you have some type of ferrous iron or aluminum in your system corrosion is not a problem either galvanic or chemical corrosion. For every 10% of antifreeze you put in your system you cut the cooling properties of the water about 8%. Since all I have is copper and a few chrome plated barbs in my system I just use distilled water and a algaecide. 10 drops of tincture of iodine or a drop or two of a algaecide from a place that sells tropical fish for each qt of distilled works great to keep the bugs and plants out,

If you want to use an antifreeze the Zerex Racing coolant is about the best. It has a low content of the ethyl glycol and 3 anti corrosives/algaecide. an ounce for every qt of water is all you need. The more you add, the less efficient the cooling system.
