I got this error after scanning computer for spyware with malwarebytes. I updated windows to xp pro sp from sp 2. I updated the audio, video and nic drivers.

Apr 27, 2009 #2 L LoStMaTt 2[H]4U Joined Feb 26, 2003 Messages 3,180 I had the same thing and spent almost 2 days trying to fix it. Reverting back to SP2 made the message go away. Went through and did additional scans, updated drivers, sfc /scannow , etc + everything I could think of. Decided to throw SP3 back on there and the message came back. Had to format and reload.
