Hello to all. I have always built my own pc's, but i'm really a novice when it comes to picking the parts for upgrading. How can you determine the component which slows your system down the most?
I'm a gamer, and a broke one at that. So my systems usually just have the most expensive/newest parts I can afford.

My system is a P5NSLI mobo, celeron 351 3.2Ghz cpu, 1 stick of 1gb pc4200 Ultra RAM, 120GB IDE HD, and EVGA GeForce 7600 GT 256MB PCIe.

As you can see, I have all kinds of ways to go about upgrading, but which will be the most beneficial? Is there any way to check it to see what is the biggest bottleneck?

I've always wondered this question so any help is appreciated.

Go CPU or RAM. If you play your cards right, you can get your hands on an E6400 for less than $100 on ebay. Also, two gigs of ballistix can be had for less than $100 on newegg.

Hell, you can get a "broken" 7800GTX on ebay for less than $50.
